When you use the Service, we and our providers may automatically collect certain technical or usage information, such as:
- pages viewed;
- links clicked;
- stories opened;
- dial movements or frame interactions;
- referrer information and UTM parameters;
- browser type, device type, operating system, and general session data;
- diagnostics, crash reports, and error logs; and
- server, request, and security logs, which may include IP addresses or similar identifiers.
We do not use IP addresses for location profiling or targeted advertising.
2.3 Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for authentication, analytics, functionality, and debugging.
Examples include:
- authentication cookies used by our auth provider;
- analytics cookies or identifiers used by Amplitude;

You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling certain cookies may affect login and core functionality.
2.4 Email analytics
Emails sent through our providers may include technologies that let us measure:
- whether an email was opened; and
- whether a link in the email was clicked.
We use this information to understand deliverability and engagement, improve email quality, and manage subscriptions.
2.5 Information we do not intentionally collect
We do not intentionally request or collect the following through the Service:
- physical mailing address from users;
- phone number;
- demographic characteristics such as race or gender;
- contacts or address book data;
- precise geolocation;
- biometric data; or
- payment card details directly.
3. How we use personal information
We may use personal information to:
- create and manage accounts;
- authenticate users and maintain sessions;
- send verification, transactional, operational, daily digest, weekly digest, and support emails;
- remember category and product preferences;
- provide, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Service;
- measure usage and engagement;

- comply with law and enforce our terms;
- respond to support requests or other communications; and
- plan, test, and evaluate new features.
We do not use personal information to personalize AI-generated news content on an individual basis at this time. Generally, users see the same editorial content.
4. How AI processing works
FrameDial uses AI tools to help generate or assist with news summaries, frame analysis, and other editorial outputs.
Our current practice is to send news content and editorial instructions to our AI provider, rather than user prompts containing your personal information. We do not intentionally include your email address or other account information in AI generation prompts for daily story content.
That said, if you contact us directly and we use AI tools internally to help analyze support or product feedback, we may process the information you provide for those operational purposes.
5. Legal bases for processing (where applicable)
Depending on where you live, we may rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — for example, to create your account, authenticate you, or deliver the Service you request;
- Legitimate interests — such as operating, securing, improving, and analyzing the Service;
- Consent — where required by law, such as for certain email communications or certain analytics technologies;
- Legal obligation — where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law; and
- Protection of rights and safety — when necessary to detect abuse, protect users, or enforce our policies.
6. How we disclose personal information

Depending on the circumstances, replay or diagnostic tools may capture interface content visible on screen at the time of the error or session sample.
We use these tools for debugging, performance monitoring, and reliability — not for advertising.
9. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

13. Third-party publishers and source material
FrameDial links to third-party publishers and sources. When you click through to a source article, that publisher’s privacy policy and terms apply to your visit.
We are not responsible for the privacy or data practices of third-party publishers or sites.
